What are the Doula benefits through CCAH and DHCS?
You can receive postpartum care up to one year after giving birth! This benefit includes miscarriage, stillbirth and abortion.
You can apply for Medi-Cal benefits regardless of sex, race, religion, color national origin, sexual orientation, marital status, age, disability or veteran status. If you are found eligible you can get Medi-Cal as long as you meet the eligibility requirements which pertain to a limited income.
Prenatal
- One initial prenatal visit.
- Up to 8 additional visits that may be provided in any combination of prenatal and postpartum care.
Labor and Delivery
- Support during labor and delivery (including labor and delivery resulting in stillbirth, abortion or miscarriage).
Postpartum
- Up to two extended three-hour postpartum visits after the end of a pregnancy.
- Up to 9 additional postpartum visits are available with additional recommendation from a physician or other licensed practitioner.
- Postpartum visits can happen up to one year after giving birth!!
